During 2023, Better Balance®, the global brand offering plant-based protein food options reached 4,100+ points of sale in Mexico, the U.S., and Spain.
The Growth Business Unit launched the Snack’In For You® brand, which offers nutritious and delicious snacks with high protein content, in Mexico, the U.S., Spain, and France, reaching 30,000+ points of sale in 2023.
Sigma successfuly placed MXN 10,000 million in local notes, also known as Certificados Bursátiles, oversubscribed by nearly 2.7 times over the target amount of the issuance.

Sustainability

66% of Sigma’s energy consumption came from clean energy sources. The goal for 2025 is to reach 67%.
Sigma has avoided the consumption of 1,638 tons of virgin plastic in its packaging since 2019 and by the end of 2023. The 2025 goal is to develop packaging solutions that lead the Company towards a circular economy.
Sigma achieved a 17.5% reduction in water consumption per ton of food vs 2018.
Sigma has accumulated 23,710 tons of food donated since 2015. Furthermore, it exceeded its target with 10.8% of employees participating in volunteering activities.
It obtained approval for its short-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets by the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi). This ensures that the Company’s objectives are aligned with the Paris Agreement to combat climate change and accelerate actions for a sustainable future. By 2027, the goal is an absolute reduction of 20% in scope 1 and 2 emissions, and 9.8% for scope 3 emissions, both with a 2019 baseline.
In Spain, Sigma received the award for the best circular economy practice, thanks to the biogas project at Campofrío Frescos. This initiative utilizes waste such as sludge and manure to produce biogas, achieving a production of 12,000 MWh, a reduction of 2,400 tons of CO2 annually.
