Indelpro Plant
Altamira, Mex.

In 2008 ALFA concentrated on consolidating the investments made in previous years. Thus, it advanced in the integration of the plants acquired by Alpek, Nemak and Sigma. It also inaugurated a new polypropylene plant in Mexico and a processed meats plant in the U.S. Additionally, Sigma made its first move in South America through the acquisition of a cold cuts company in Peru, and Alestra increased value-added services portfolio.

This way, ALFA continued reinforcing its strengths, increasing its global presence and diversifying its markets, which was key to face the financial crisis that worsened in the second half of 2008 and caused a recession in some of the main global markets. In spite of this, the company managed to increase its revenues and to maintain its EBITDA level.
